FIRST AID

The American Heart Association First Aid course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge to manage the first 10 minutes of an emergency.
Topics covered:

  • Giving basic first aid as needed for selected medical emergencies (breathing, choking, allergic reactions, stroke, seizure, etc.)
  • How to respond to injuries emergencies (wounds, burns, etc.)
  • How to respond to environmental emergencies (animal / insect bites, heat / cold, poison, etc.)This course is ideal for caregivers, parents, teachers, or anyone wanting to learn First Aid.
  • Upon completion of this course, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid course completion card that is valid for 2 years.

    First Aid

    First Aid training provides you with the skills to respond in emergency situations. The Heartsaver First Aid class and is ideal for people with limited or no previous medical training.

    First Aid ONLINE is a convenient way to combine the American Heart Association First Aid course and an instructor led skills session to obtain an American Heart Association First Aid completion card.

    To receive your First Aid completion card you must successfully complete:

    • Part 1: Successful completion of First Aid ONLINE Part 1 online portion and the written exam
    • Skill Session, 30 minutes: Hands on skills test session with an AHA First Aid instructor. A certificate of completion for First Aid ONLINE PART 1 must be presented at the time of your skill session to receive your completion card.
      Your course registration fee ($38.00) includes PART 1 of the required steps to receive your First Aid completion card.

    You also need to register and pay the course fee for the First Aid Skill Session ($50.00).

    A copy of your ONLINE Certificate of Completion is Required to attend the skills session. Your First Aid completion card will be issued at the time of your skill session.
    All skill sessions are scheduled based on instructor availability.
    NO REFUND is allowed once KeyCode is purchased.

    If you have completed the online portion of the American Heart Association First Aid Course (http://www.onlineaha.org/), select a date to complete your registration for the skill session.If there is not a date listed that works with your schedule, scroll to the bottom of the listed dates, complete your online registration and include your availability in the comment section OR you can email info@southeasternschool.org to see if an instructor is available to complete your skill check during times you are available, then complete your registration online.

    All skill checks require pre-registration to guarantee your appointment. Skill checks are scheduled based on instructor availability.

    You will receive your First Aid completion card at the time of your skill session. Your official American Heart Association online completion certificate must be presented at the time of your skill check.

    Please be advised that effective April 1, 2024, we will be reducing the availability of our live AHA classes. Although we will only schedule 2-4 classes per month, we do have the ability to add classes upon request for groups of 3 or more students as needed. If you are unable to find a class to fit your schedule, please send an email and we will do our best to accommodate your request. We continue to offer our virtual EKG and ENA courses and are also available forĀ  "off-site" classes at your location of choice.
